The face featured in the middle of the icon is derived from the “Cr” chemical abbreviation for chromium, turned sideways to make a winking face. I chose to surround it with a soft six sided shape, referencing the hexagons used in organic chemistry skeletal structure illustrations. In the primary logo, featured largest n this page, the Chromium icon functions as the “o” in chromium. The secondary logo, featured on the left, is best used for more square or vertical surfaces where the primary logo may appear too small.
