I was instructed to create a logo for architecture company Cubica, located in Florida. While I experimented with several logo ideas, the majority of them were based on a 2D representation of a 3D cube made from three equal sides of a hexagon. I then split each side into a 3x3 grid of squares, similar to a Rubik’s cube. Using the middle rows and columns of these squares, I created a visible “C” in the center of the design. I then filled out the rest of the cube grid in all spaces that were not directly touching the “C”. The monochrome color palette, inspired by the coasts of Florida, further adds dimension in mimicking the way light would hit a physical cube.
